We’ve built an incredible place to work. We’ve all been hired to do what we love: mix sound, handle equipment, setup events… but we’re currently a boat full of specialists. What we’re looking for is a general manager, someone whose heart isn’t here to do the technical work itself, but who’s here to facilitate the team growing. Our founder has been caring for the 10 people directly reporting to him, but before that number grows to 20, we want to add a layer of management in between to help manage the operations of our growing team. We’re looking for someone who’s very comfortable doing that to enable us to open the next chapter of our story.
avad3 is an Event Production company nestled in the heart of Northwest Arkansas. We serve through the technical components behind-the-scenes at events to help make the audio, video and lighting make an impact without distraction. We’ve grown a lot in our first five years. We began as one man with a passion for quality event production, and today are a team of 10 working together as a unit to do bigger and better events than one man ever could alone. We’re a full-service provider which means our customers aren’t hiring a hodgepodge lineup of freelancers with rented gear, it’s our gear with our people making the difference. We have Techs that run events in the field, an office team who works with clients to coordinate the moving parts, shop assistants focused on the equipment… everything we need to continue to grow.
We’re located in the center of Northwest Arkansas, minutes from three of the world’s largest companies and just up the road from the University of Arkansas. We love to travel for work occasionally, but our primary focus and growth is here at home. We believe we can build a place where we can work hard, do our craft, but then be able to be home with our families and have a balanced life instead of being out on the road like the rest of the live event production industry.

This role places you directly managing our team. You don’t have to have the deepest level of technical knowledge when you know how to take care of a team of people who do.
Above all else, you need to be comfortable managing. Some may have worked their way from the ground up in the production industry. Others may resonate deeply with our brand but not have a technical background. What matters in this role is the management experience, familiarity with NWA culture, and knowledge of the events industry as a whole. This is not an entry-level job for a timid soul. We’re looking for someone who’s been in multiple management environments and is ready to take on the challenge with bravery thanks to the experience under their belt leading other teams.
We believe in open book management. You’ll have full two-way visibility and transparency with our founder Cameron. None of us like the limits of bureaucracy but instead thrive on trust. It is your job to enable the team, and when the team wins, we all win. Serve us as servants and enable us to do well.
Looking into the average work week at avad3, scalability and adaptability is key. We may have a large show that has the majority of our team and equipment all in the same building for an entire week, or, we may have multiple smaller events with things spread out from Bentonville to Fayetteville. We have a great office team focused on two things: communicating with customers, and coordinating the team. Your role will be to oversee them, as well as the folks in the field, as we all work together to serve the needs of events in our area. At times, you’ll want to be out in the field at the grassroots level. Other times, you may need to step away and spend a morning alone in a quiet place working out a marketing plan or strategy for the season ahead. More than an extra hand in the trenches today, we need a lieutenant who’s looking at the battlefield ahead and preparing us for next month while we focus on this month. Above all technical knowledge in the field, we want you most focused on “managing the business,” and thinking of things you can do now from your desk to prepare us for next season.
We’re all about sprinting and resting. You want to be prepared for some really long weeks where you’re with the team 6am-6pm multiple days in a row, but then as a whole we could all take Friday off. We believe in serving each other, so being a team player is a must, but we also believe in creating a place we all want to work at, and sustainability and time away to rest with our families is taken seriously.
